Biography

Sarah has extensive government relations, corporate advisory and health campaign experience, having spent over 17 years working in federal politics, as well as for global companies in finance and media industries.  Sarah has a proven understanding of the challenges and complexities of the policy, regulatory and legislative processes of government.  In her three years with Nexus, Sarah has assisted a range of clients achieve a number of significant policy successes, including assisting securing $40 million in health funding for the Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI); the establishment of the National Osteoporosis Strategic Plan; the implementation of the Australian Federation of Aids Organisations (AFAO) federal election survey; as well as the establishment of the annual “Facing North” parliamentary event for the Darwin Major Business Group (DMBG).

With ten years’ experience working at the highest level of the Federal Government, including for two Prime Ministers and three Federal Ministers, Sarah has a proven understanding of government policy, procedure and protocol, as well as an extensive network spanning the ministry, backbench and federal government departments.

In between her time on the Hill, Sarah honed her corporate public relations, marketing and media management skills in the Global Markets Division of Deutsche Bank and spent four years within News Corporation’s Corporate Affairs team in Sydney.  Whilst at News Corporation, Sarah assisted with crisis management and produced award winning, nation-wide events for Rupert Murdoch, including bipartisan networking receptions, investor briefings, press conferences, the annual News Awards, the nationally televised Pride of Australia Awards, and annual editorial and marketing conferences.

In 2010, Sarah won a national award for “Best Organised Event” for her production of News Corporation’s 2009 News Awards and has addressed conferences on programme development and communications.  Sarah has a Diploma of Business Administration, as well as the internationally recognised PRINCE II qualification for project management.
