Biography

With over ten years’ experience in government and departmental offices, Richard brings a unique expertise in policy development, communications and regulatory affairs to the Nexus APAC team.

In his most recent role, Richard was the Policy and Media Adviser to the Shadow Assistant Minister for Manufacturing and Science and Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Health, Mr Nick Champion MP.  Richard’s role was heavily focussed on stakeholder relationship management, strategy development for media and communications as well as overseeing policy and research.  Prior to this, Richard spent nearly seven years within the Federal Government in both policy and regulatory roles including as a Policy and Budget Adviser at the Department of Finance and Deregulation where he was responsible for overseeing the listing of new medications on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.

Richard holds a Masters of Strategic Communications from the University of Canberra and a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from the University of Tasmania.
